Why upgrade your OP930 to OP940? When is the right time to upgrade?

The OP930 served as the premier option for IL and RL testing in both lab and production settings for over 10 years. In 2016, the final OP930 was produced and the OP940 made its debut.

The OP940 insertion loss and return loss meter was designed with the same technology principles as the OP930 and introduced new features to improve the operator’s ease of use, such as a full-color LCD Screen, configurable on-screen pass/fail results, and two-position RL measurements.

There are many OP930s still in use today, which serves a testament to the longevity and reliability of OptoTest products. That being said, there are some reasons to consider upgrading or adding an OP940 to your test system if you have an OP930 now.

Some key benefits that our customers gain when they integrate the OP940 into their test processes include:

OP940-OTDR screen
OP940 IL and RL power meter
  • Increased testing speed
  • Improved APC reference process
  • Reflection scan modes for troubleshooting
  • Ability to re-polish the front panel connector
  • Integrated support for the OP725 bidirectional switch
  • OptoTest’s 3-year warranty on new products

Introducing the OP940 to your production line does not mean you have to retire your OP930. The older unit can serve as a backup when the OP940 is up for calibration or in case of sudden high-volume testing.

There’s never a bad time to invest in a new OP940. Whether you’re looking to scale up production, add new product lines such as MTP/MPO or hybrid cables, or make your cable production more efficient, the OP940 can help take your IL and RL testing to the next level, combining new features and benefits with the performance you trust.
