OptoTest has announced the launch of their new flagship OP960 Insertion Loss (IL) and Return Loss (RL) meters, the fastest in the industry, which were revealed during last week’s Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) virtual event.
The OP960 furthers OptoTest’s lead as the makers of the fastest IL and RL meters in the industry by being more than 30 percent quicker than the OP940, the previous industry leader from OptoTest.
The OP960 incorporates a new larger touchscreen with 35 percent more screen area and 70 percent more detail. IL and RL can be tested simultaneously with the results updating in real time, improving the overall user experience even if you’re just manually measuring simplex cables.
Built-in Ethernet capability makes the OP960 capable of distant remote operation when driven by OptoTest’s OPL-SDK software development kit, which enables users to create their own customized solution. There is also a standard USB interface for remote control from local computers.
